I have been learning SO much from my Chinese doctor. I feel like I’ve known her in a past life! I am so grateful to have met her and found the teachings of her culture. During today’s appointment, we had a talk about the universe.
She said, “People forget that we are a part of nature. Man created “laws,” but nature has its own laws we must follow.”

The UNIVERSE is all about balance. We are a part of that universe. In reality, “health” is just a state of perfect balance and flow of energy. Yin & Yang energy is in everything – it is a part of every aspect of our daily lives.

The earth we live on is yin, and the sun that brings us warmth is yang. A woman is yin, and a man is yang. Sadness is yin, while joyfulness is yang.

Yang energy, which creates excess or “heat” is strongest during the day, when the sun is out. Yin energy, which creates deficiency or “cold” is strongest at night. The energy and motivation of our body mirrors the SUN’S yang energy! Our DIGESTIVE FIRE (think of logs of food going into a fervent fire) is strongest when the sun’s energy is strongest. By listening to nature and the cycle of the sun, we know to eat our largest meal around 3pm. You should try not to eat when the sun goes down, because your body gets colder and your digestive fire dies out in order to save energy for organ restoration during sleep.

Do you have too much Yin or too much Yang?
