Published October 10, 2021 Hi, pod fam! I know many of you are fans of the Almost 30 podcast and the amazing community surrounding it, so this ep might feel like two worlds colliding in the most magical way. We’re joined this week by Krista Williams & Lindsey Simcik: co-hosts of the Almost 30 Podcast. These magnetic ladies have so much to share about finding your creative purpose, forging connections & building a community, thriving through your Saturn Return, fostering self-love & setting boundaries, and so much more. Psst: Be sure to check out the Almost 30 podcast for the other half of this magical crossover! Let’s get (extra) juicy! Starting with one of the biggest lessons they’ve learned… We all process things in different ways—and we all tend to make decisions in different ways, too. In life—and especially in business—it’s important to find a balance for the sake of everyone involved. In the case of Almost 30, Krista tends to process things in the moment, while Lindsey takes her time making decisions. Their differences help balance each other out, allowing them to support each other and their thriving business in different ways. And for me, this lesson is a CONSTANT one. I’m learning to accept that going slow, taking my time, and trusting others during the decision-making process is not only okay but totally necessary. …and looking at how far they’ve come. Almost 30 started while Krista and Lindsey were in their late-20s (almost 30—hence the name!) and both sort of feeling lost and directionless. As divine intervention would have it, SoulCycle brought the two of them together, and something just clicked. The two took the questions, fears, concerns, struggles related to approaching their 30th birthdays and started a podcast “Almost 30 is about supporting people through these life transitions because it really has supported us.” —Krista Williams Spoiler alert: The age thing turned out to be a lot more significant for Krista, Lindsey, and Almost 30. You all know I love astrology, so believe me when I say I got chills hearing about this cosmic connection. Coincidentally, both Krista and Lindsey were about to go through their Saturn Returns when they met and started the podcast. No idea what that means? Not super into astrology? Don’t worry—I got you. Your Saturn Return happens two, maybe three times in your life—and it’s a signifier of BIG changes. We’re talking new beginnings, endings, and really just coming into our purpose. Astrologically speaking, it happens when Saturn returns to the place where it was when you were born. For most of us, it’s between the ages of 27 and 30, and it can last for up to 2.5 years. With that being said, mine is coming up soon, and I asked Krista and Lindsey for some advice—which I’m sure many of you could benefit from as well! Psst: Not sure when yours is happening? Check your Saturn Return dates here. How to survive (and thrive through) your Saturn Return Honestly, even if you’re not thinking in terms of Saturn Return, approaching the age of 30 can be a little daunting! But it should actually be a really exciting, eye-opening, magical time in our lives. (Those of you who are in or have been through yours—please share your experience with me on Instagram!) How the Saturn Return will feel for us is all about our mindset. Here’s what Krista had to say about that: “If you are on the aligned path of your life, and you really have listened to the signs, and you really are living in integrity, and you really are living by your design. astrologically or how your authentic code is supposed to be, the Saturn return feels good.” Your Saturn Return is like a divine calling to step into your life’s purpose. And if you can acknowledge what that is and accept the changes and challenges ahead, then life is about to get GOOOOOOD. “Taking radical responsibility for your life is the most important thing,” said Krista. Tune into the podcast for more on this, but basically: start thinking about (or meditating on, journaling about, praying about, etc.) what your true life’s calling is. And be prepared for the universe to help you seek it out. If you feel like you’re on the right path, your Saturn Return *should* be smooth sailing. Okay, BUT—since identifying your true purpose involves a lot of self-reflection, you might want to take a look at what’s distracting you from recognizing that. For a lot of us, it might be social media. We’ll talk more on this in the episode, but take it from me: a break from social media is always a good thing. Let yourself break free from the constant consumption and comparison and take time for yourself. Reconnect with your creative side: dance, read, draw, write, reflect, sing—whatever makes you feel good and alive and fully yourself. Leaving you with a few mantras from K+L: I love a good mantra for practicing self-love or setting the tone for your day. Here are a few faves from Krista and Lindsey: “I’m a living fractal of the Divine.”“I’m infinite grace.”“I am love embodied.”“I release what is not mine, and I reclaim who I am.” As always, tune into the episode for allll the juicy goodness in this ep! We’re digging deeper into astrology, experiences with psychedelics, and practicing self-care by setting boundaries with our social media consumption.
